On Saturday I took Nadya to see her first play! We saw "If You Give A Pig A Pancake" at the Hangar Theatre (a local summer theatre) and had lots of fun. I explained many times on the way there that she wasn't going to go on stage, but we were going to watch people on stage. We had fun pointing out all the colored spotlights lights up in the ceiling and people watching (mostly picking out all the babies) before the show started, and once it began she did a perfect job sitting on my lap quietly while we watched. Maybe she'll learn to love theatre as much as I do and this will be the first of many shows we see together!

We also finished a garden in the front of our house this weekend. I've spent the last several weeks learning a lot about plants by visiting several nurseries and asking many questions of the people who work there and a couple of friends who are educated on the subject. I'm still a novice but now I understand much more about sun/shade plants, deer resistance, plant heartiness for the winter, plants poisonous to humans, designing a space, etc. It's been fun, and overwhelming at times! We now have boxwood shrubs, a hydrangea tree and perennials...they're all babies so the space is still a little sad, but I expect by next spring everything will begin to fill out and it will be beautiful!
Our weekend also included some swimming! We got out the baby pool which was a lot of fun once we acclimated to the freezing water, and took the kids swimming in the lake. Nadya wasn't sure about the lake at first, but once she realized she could walk on the bottom she loved it and wanted to do it all by herself, or as she says, "I can do it all myself." Eli's number 1 love, next to food, is the water so he of course was all smiles!

Adorable! :) Nadya is talking so much!! :) I miss them!! Hopefully Yellie and I can take a trip to visit soon!!-Emily
