Yeah for Summer!

Today was one of those days that felt like summer. It was a beautiful day where much of it was spent outside. Yeah for that.

A couple of months ago while we were taking a walk Nadya spotted a couple boys on skateboards. She asked if she could skateboard and when my response was something to the point of not being old enough yet, she said, "How about a bicycle?" Ever since then she's often asked for a bicycle and has been waiting for that "someday" to arrive when she was told she would get one of her own. Today became someday and she is now the proud owner of a shiny red tricycle!

For Eli it was the first day he added dirt to his list of digestible foods. That's not the part that thrills me, but today was the first day we've been outside since he's mastered his new skills of crawling and pulling up. So he was quite happy exploring the great outdoors and if even though that means small amounts of dirt now find their way into his curious hands and mouth, its all worth it. From what I've been told, kids don't eat enough dirt nowadays anyway!

And the activity that brought us outside in the first place was 4 awesome XA guys who came over to help Matt dig post holes to put up a fence to go around the new patio Matt's working on and dig up a patch of grass for us to do some landscaping in front of the house. Its an ongoing project for the week and we are sooooo thankful for them!
